Rising Sun Border Collies

Welcome to our Border Collie site! Many of you are familiar with us from our Quarter Horse

breeding and training business, but we also raise Border Collies.

Our puppies are never raised in kennels. They are born inside the house and spend days outside
as soon as they are old enough, weather permitting. They come back inside at night. They
sleep in crates at night and will be somewhat crate trained before they go to their new homes.
Puppies are also dewormed and have their first vaccine before leaving. Our male, SCR Just Jake
has been OFA hip certified.

We raise our puppies on a horse breeding and training facility built on 135 acres in Castle Dale, UT.
All of our dogs are around horses, cats, other dogs and occasionally cattle. Our breeding Border Collies come
from a strong background in agility, fly ball and herding. Our females have very different personalities and we can
offer you your choice of puppies who will grow up to be your best friend. We normally have litters available two to
three times a year.

Border Collies are a unique intelligent breed, considered by many to be the geniuses of the canine world. This being
said, they have they ability to learn anything, however that is not necessarily what you might want them to learn.
They need attention, as any dog does to be pointed in the right direction. Our dogs are focused but are used to shutting
down in the house and being very quiet, they also ride quietly in the truck and normally sleep all the way from
Utah to Oklahoma on long trips. They are smart but also sane. They are willing to please, loving and very good
with children. They are herding dogs by nature and will protect the family on instinct. They will also, if allowed to,
herd your kids. So unless that appeals to you, you may want to stop that behavior when it begins. They are also intensely
loyal and our clients often report their Border Collie following them everywhere, including into the bathroom.

Recently they have grown in popularity as "Service Dogs" especially in the area of "Emotional Support Dogs" If
you would like more information o this aspect of Border Collies, please let us know. Being a "Service Dog" allows
you to take you Collie on flights, in stores, and a myriad of other doors that open for you and your dog. We have
pups working agility, search and rescue, flyball and doing duty being great family pets.
